Abstract

The origami “switchboard” is a rectangular array of square twists, each viewed as a “switch” that can be configured in 18 different ways. The article proposes the use of the switchboard to create origami models of patterns with rectangular geometry and to explore their properties. The approach is demonstrated for three variants of 𝑝4𝑔 wallpaper patterns.
